I THE INDEX CLUBApply

THE ANNUAL MEMBERS' BOARD MEETING

Once a year, the members set the agenda.

The Index Club is deliberately built around a small number of businesses.

Once a year, representatives from those member brands come together for the Annual Members' Board Meeting: a working session to review what the club is doing well, what it should change and where it should go next.

Not a client entertainment day. Not a conference. A proper room, a small group of smart people and an opportunity to help shape the club they belong to.

Governance & Philosophy

A members' club should be shaped by its members.

Agencies usually decide how the agency works and ask clients to fit around it. We want to build The Index Club differently. The Annual Members' Board Meeting gives active members a formal opportunity to challenge the model, surface shared problems, propose new ideas and influence where we invest our attention over the following year.

Agenda Focus

Part review. Part working session. Part provocation.

• Club Performance & Strategy: Unfiltered review of Index Club methodology, research, and technical developments.

• Member Shared Challenges: Cross-member discussion on organic growth, search fragmentation, and AI discovery.

• Resource & R&D Priorities: Deciding where the studio allocates internal research, tooling, and development focus for the year ahead.

• Open Critique: Active feedback on service, reporting, communication, and strategic value.

The Room

One club. One table.

Attendance is limited strictly to active brand members (senior marketing leaders, growth leads, or founders) and the senior leadership of The Index Club.

The room remains intentionally small—no external sponsors, no vendors, and no observers—to maintain high signal, psychological safety, and direct discussion.

Impact Scope

Influence, not theatre.

Members influence the practical direction of our search practice, research priorities, tool development, and member experience.

Internal commercial operations, pricing, and client confidentiality remain managed by The Index Club studio team.

Confidentiality

Useful conversations require trust.

Everything discussed at the Annual Members' Board Meeting—from business metrics to search experiments—is held under strict non-disclosure.

The meeting operates under a clear confidentiality principle. Individual client strategy, performance data and confidential materials remain private unless that member explicitly chooses to share them.

Tangible Results

The meeting should change something.

Every board meeting produces five concrete outputs:

Output 01

The Annual Member Roadmap

A recalibrated strategic roadmap reflecting shared search priorities and market changes.

Output 02

Research & Tooling Commitments

Dedicated studio R&D commitments focused on member-requested capabilities.

Output 03

Service & Delivery Refinements

Direct operational changes to how we communicate, report, and execute strategy.

Output 04

Anonymised Club Benchmark Summary

An aggregated, anonymised benchmark report on organic performance across member sectors.

Output 05

Member Action Plan

Individual strategic action points for each attending brand where appropriate.

Founding Cohort

The first board meeting starts with the founding cohort.

Founding members of the initial 3–5 brand intake play a foundational role in defining the board format, agenda structure, and early club priorities.

Governance Clarification

Note: The Annual Members' Board Meeting is a member advisory and working forum designed to shape studio service and strategy. It is not a statutory board, fiduciary role, equity arrangement or voting-rights promise.
